Amazon Simple Email Service Management

AWS recently released the Simple Email Service that provides an easy, cost-effective, and reliable way to add email sending functionality to your systems and applications. Ylastic just added support for managing this new shiny toy. In order to begin using the service, you will need to verify the email addresses used for sending.

SES will send an email to the address with a verification link. Click the link and you are good to go.

Once the address has been verified, your applications can start using the SES API to send emails. You can send out test emails from within Ylastic to check out the service.

Each new SES account is placed in a sandbox, with limits and quotas imposed on the quantities of emails sent out. Emails can only be sent to verified addresses within this sandbox environment. These restrictions can be removed by requesting production access. Statistics are available so you can keep an eye on the service usage.

The quotas and sending limits are dynamic, and adjusted by AWS as they monitor your usage of the service.

Enjoy :-)
