Migrating snapshots between EC2 regions

Since the recent AWS outage, we have been getting a lot of requests for migrating snapshots between EC2 regions. Here we go - super simple migration of your snapshots.

Snap3

Select a snapshot, provide a description, and click a button. Ylastic will migrate the snapshot and send you an email once the process is complete.

Snapmig2

Windows EBS snapshot support as well as multi-partitioned filesystem support in the works. Enjoy :-)

For those of of us who manage identical deployments in multiple regions this is an enormously helpful tool!

This is great! Thanks for being so pro-active on this. Are there plans to automate this and add RDS support? For instance, I would like to have a recent copy of EBS volumes and RDS at another region just in case. I have developed a script internally to snapshot our RDS, launch an instance in another region, import data into that, and create a snapshot from that... but something automated in ylastic would be much nicer.

We are planning to add this as another scheduled task, so you can run it on a schedule. The RDS snapshots sounds interesting. We would certainly like to add that, and would love to hear your thoughts on it. Are you just doing a normal snapshot of the copied RDS data? If you would want to discuss it via email - support at ylastic.com. Thanks!

Being able to schedule your DR tools would be a great feature!
